Buick Warranty

A warranty protects you against damage that could happen to your Buick or GMC under normal operating conditions. It doesn’t protect against normal wear and tear or damage caused by accidents, unauthorized parts, or certain other circumstances. We’d like to tell you about coverage provided under your Buick warranty or GMC warranty.

Understanding Your 2024 Buick Warranty and GMC Warranty

Buick and GMC Warranties

General Motors (GM) is the parent company of both Buick and GMC. The two manufacturers provide identical warranties for their respective vehicles, so we’ll explain the highlights of their warranties together.

Several different warranties apply to your Buick or GMC, so let’s take a look at them in more detail.

Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty

This warranty applies to most of your vehicle’s systems and components. If a problem develops due to an error related to the manufacturing or installation of any covered component, the affected component will be repaired or replaced at no charge. Warranty coverage applies for the first three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Tire coverage is included in this warranty, but any tire damage caused by normal wear and tear is excluded. Component coverage under this warranty is also excluded for any damage caused by misuse, unauthorized alternations, or lack of maintenance. In addition, the cost of routine maintenance is not covered by warranty.

Powertrain Limited Warranty

The engine, transmission, and drive systems are protected by this warranty. It provides coverage for all the parts in these systems with certain specified exceptions. Components that are not covered by this warranty include the sensors, coolant, cooling lines, and your radiator. The coverage duration is five years or 60,000 miles.

Rust-Through Protection

Rust-through is rust that develops and produces a hole through any of your vehicle’s body metal or sheet metal. In the very unlikely situation of rust appearing and penetrating the metal during the warranty period, the damaged metal section will be replaced for free. Your vehicle is protected against this damage for six years or 100,000 miles.

Emissions Control System Warranty

The emissions control system is one of your vehicle’s most crucial systems. it’s responsible for removing dangerous and toxic chemicals produced by combustion. It does this by converting these chemicals into less harmful ones and water. Your Buick or GMC is designed and built to the high standards of emissions control determined by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The majority of the emissions control system is protected against any possible defect for two years or 24,000 miles. Certain components, like the catalytic converter and the engine control module, have extended protection that lasts for eight years or 80,000 miles. The coverage duration for emission control components is listed in your warranty booklet.
